How Is Hemp Different Than Marijuana?

Hemp and Marijuana are two different species of the same plant family, Cannabis.

The main difference is that Hemp contains less than 0.3% THC and won’t get you high. Marijuana is psychoactive and usually contains low amounts of CBD.

What is a cannabinoid?

A cannabinoid is one of a class of diverse chemical compounds that acts on cannabinoid receptors, also known as the endocannabinoid system.

There are two type of cannabinoids:

Endocannabinoids, which our body creates naturally.

Phytocannabinoids, which are derived from cannabis and hemp.

What is CBD exactly?

CBD, otherwise known as Cannabidiol, is one of the most well-known phytocannabinoids. Others include THC, CBN and many more.

These phytocannabinoids work naturally with the body’s endocannabinoid system.

Sounds familiar, but what is the Endocannabinoid System?

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is the homeostatic regulatory system of the body.

It is found in all mammals and affects every physiological process like perceiving pain, appetite and regulating mood levels and memory.

What’s a Terpene?

Terpenes are the main class of aromatic compounds found in hemp and many other plants.

They are the molecules that are responsible for the scent, flavor and even the effects on the human body.

In NBD CBD we added two terpenes:

Pinene (pine scent and anti-inflammatory properties, promotes alertness and memory retention)

and Limonene (citrus scent and mood enhancer, stress reliever, anti-depressant properties).

What's the diff between Isolate, Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum?

Isolate is the purest form of CBD, It contains zero THC and comes in the form of a powder or slab. It is tasteless and odorless.

Full Spectrum contains the complete range of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and fatty acids found in the plant.

Compared to other extracts, full-spectrum contains everything the plant contains and maintains the integrity of the whole plant. It is believed to be more effective, thanks to the Entourage Effect.

Broad Spectrum CBD is a mix between Full Spectrum and Isolate.

Like Full Spectrum, the other compounds found within the plant are preserved in the extract; however, like CBD Isolate, THC is completely removed.

What is the Entourage Effect?

The results produced from the synergistic interaction of the cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes and fatty acids naturally found in the hemp plant.

Is it legal?

Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD is fully legal in all 50 states. It just has to be 0.3% THC or less and grown in the USA.

How much should I take?

Everybody is different, and there’s no standard use that works across the board. Some feel the effects within minutes, some take days of regular use.

That is because everyone is wired differently. Just like how some people take one hit of weed and it knocks them out when others can handle way more.

New to CBD? Start with half a dropper which is about 7mg of CBD. Do this daily, in the morning or early afternoon. After a week of consistent use, check in with yourself and see how yew feel. Barely noticed the effects, try moving up to a full dropper.

If you're an avid CBD consumer, try a full dropper daily and increase as needed.

Be sure to be hydrated and have some food in your system before you consume any cannabis products.
